we stopped at the Dukes head friday to Monday, all staff were great, our room was at the back of hotel was small than thought, but very comfortable, they were very helpful move us to a larger posher room in the older part of hotel, when our toilet got a leak, we didn't ask they just offered, food was great, last day breakfast wasn't as good as the other days, on last day manager spoke to us to make sure room was OK and apologies for the inconvenience of having to move. We was there as visiting friends and it was in the lovely square with everything in walking distance and ferry ride to the other side. Yes we going to stop again

The grand reception is incredibly suave, filled with antique yet modern-styled furniture with a bar/cafe for any morning hunger. The staff were incredibly friendly not only whilst checking in but during my stay too. The room was decently clean and spacious for two people, including all the necessities one might need for a great stay at a wonderful hotel. The beds were comfortable, the pillows plush, and the sheets ever so soft. After a great night's sleep, we proceeded to checkout by dropping our key cards off at reception it was swift and smooth sailing. Overall would stay again in this humble yet grandiose abode.

Everything about our stay was fantastic. Room was lovely albeit it a little small, would book a bigger room next time. The breakfast was a buffet breakfast which we like and the quality was great. We had dinner at the Hotel too and the food was excellent. One of the most refreshing things was the friendliness of the staff, everyone was so helpful and so very friendly. This made our stay even better. We would highly recommend this Hotel, everything was wonderful and the location is perfect, right in the town centre. We always managed to get a space in the car park too.

A lot grander than I was expecting! which was lovely for for my travel companion (my mum). Bedroom was a good size for twin beds, and very comfortable. Really good late afternoon dinner on the Sunday - the staff were very amenable and accommodating on the set menu. Perfect location to nip across the market place for an evening show at the Corn Exchange. Brilliant central location, and nice to have the use of the hotel carpark. (Very happy to have paid extra for that.)

Cheryl

Nice room in the original part of the hotel. Good heating for this time of year, so nice comfy room. Staff very helpful and attentive. Nothing seemed to much trouble. Nice touch on our last night when we told them we were celebrating our 38th weeding anniversary. Our first drink at the evening meal was on them, We Took a group of Masons to this Hotel in 2015 for a ladies Night and it didn't disappoint us this time either.
